vintage Russ stuffed animal plush spotted owl, short eared owl or horned owl

Cute little plush owl, about 8 1/2" tall, Russ label. This looks like a short eared owl to me - it has spots, but I think there are no ear tufts on spotted owls. Maybe it's a long eared owl or a great horned owl? It's in very good clean condition without damage.
