Glass mirrored shadow box, 1950s vintage, crafted from an antique 1890s picture frame, very ornate. This was painted with glossy black paint, giving it a lacquer-like finish, which we love!
The frame measures 27" x 22 3/4" overall, and 20" x 16 1/4" over the 'box'. There's a wire at the back for hanging, I don't believe this was ever set into a wall.
The glass mirror has some wear to the silvering, and the frame has some chips to the applied gesso decoration, as well as some rubs to the paint.
