vintage camp lantern or skater's lamp, British Hong Kong chrome signal light / flashlight

Working battery flashlight, a mini lantern about 6" tall from the top of the hanger hook to the bottom of the base. It's made to take a C cell, we think? We just held AAs in place while we tested it!

This is marked Hong Kong British CC (Crown Colony), probably 1950s - 1960s vintage. The chrome is nice and shiny, but does have some spots.
