vintage cast metal squirrel nutcracker, chrome plated figural nut cracker

Cast metal squirrel nutcracker, about 6" long end to end. I couldn't find a makers marking on this piece - it's a cute little thing which I've never seen before, quite heavy, looks well made. I have no idea as to its exact vintage, but it's in good condition (some slight pitting to the chrome), works fine.
