vintage folk art hand painted crowing rooster, primitive toleware huge old barrel lid

Great old piece of primitive style folk art - this is a metal lid for a barrel, made into a sign or wall hanging with a hand painted crowing rooster!

I love the way the musical notes are painted by the bird's beak. The colors and detail on this piece are just amazing. Someone put a lot of thought and love here.

It's something between 1930s and 1950s vintage, not dated, or signed at all that I could see. It's heavy steel, obviously much worn before it was painted, and worn still further after that. Measures about 22" overall diameter.
