vintage hand painted wood recipes box w/ roosters, Woodpecker Ware made in Japan

Mid century vintage wood Recipes file box or your recipe cards or clippings. Box is empty, sized to hold 5" index cards.

I believe the hand painted birds are roosters, though the brand is Woodpecker Ware so maybe they're supposed to be woodpeckers?

This is used but pretty clean overall, not a lot of wear or soil. There's a few old pencil scribbles inside the box.
