vintage ironstone china dishes The Nelson coat of arms emblem soup bowls
more photos of this product belowEarly to mid 20th century Mayer china restaurant ware ironstone soup bowls with a Nelson coat of arms (a man with a flag, with a lion opposite).
The heraldic emblem and history can be found at the Norfolk Heraldry website - but I'd be surprised if these American made dishes were made for a UK customer?
And there's so many bars, pubs, restaurants named Nelson that I'm having an impossible time tracking that down! But if your name is Nelson, you'll probably know more about these than I do.
It's a set of four 8" diameter rimmed bowls, all showing use, some scratching and surface wear. No chips or cracks to any of these pieces.
