vintage sock monkey doll, stuffed toy Rockford red heel cotton work socks

Sock monkey doll, about 24" tall. I'm not sure if this is a 'real' sock monkey (doesn't look - to my mind - like the sock monkeys I had as a child in the early 1970s) but it does have some age to it, and I don't think today we'd use real buttons on a child's toy. The Nelson / Rockford Illinois sock factory is gone now, but the charm of the old sock monkeys goes on forever.
