vintage spool thread cabinet, zinc metal store display w/ sign & tray drawers
more photos of this product belowVintage Coats & Clark's cotton thread cabinet, an all metal store counter display, early 50s? It's out of the estate of a 100 year old lady who opened a variety store around 1950. (Mercerized thread spools are marked 15 cents on the sign, priced 10 cents on sale with paper price tags, if that helps.)
This is HEAVY steel with a zinc colored finish, industrial style. We love the flat drawers to hold the threads, like a map chest. They're made to close completely, or open to show off the thread colors.
We've left the old paper labels for the shades of thread where we found them, I don't believe today's thread colors have such romantic names!
The cabinet measures 26 1/2" wide across the front, 12" tall, 22 1/2" deep front to back. It's dusty, and shows surface rust spotting which we haven't touched - though we believe it would clean up nicely with a very fine steel wool.
