vintage tinsel paintings w/ gold fruit, reverse foil intaglio etchings listed artist Harris G Strong

Pair of vintage 'tinsel paintings' in the classical style, reverse painted etchings with copper and gold foil leaf behind them. These are labeled hand crafted Harris G Strong - Bronx 55 New York. They're made sometime between the early 50s and the early 70s, I think.

It's a little different from the work Strong is best known for (modernist tiles) but they're beautifully done. It's a lovely set, showing very little peeling or wear to the black. Size is 16 1/2" x 13 1/2" over the gold wood frames.
