vintage toy chicken wool mohair rooster w/ felt legs, no Steiff label, Germany?

Nice older wool mohair rooster with felt legs and feet, red wool felt comb. I don't think it's one of Steiff's chickens, though it's very firm and stands all by itself, more like a decoration than a toy as so many Steiffs are. Condition is very good, clean and nice overall. Measures about 9 1/2" tall.
