antique Clyde - Scotland blue transferware ribbon china plates & bowls
more photos of this product belowMid 19th century (1850s or 60s?) Clyde china transfer ware plates and bowls, with garter ribbon pattern in blue on white. There are four 9 1/2" diameter plates and three 9" diameter soup bowls.
These have the diamond shaped marking for the date and a Clyde G W T & Sons mark with crown and sword on each of the bowls, though none of the plates are marked.
One of the bowls has a hairline, and one has a chip. One bowl and all four of the plates and free of chips or cracks, though they do have noticeable browning from age.
It's a nice lot of genuinely old Scottish pottery, to use and display on it's own or with other vintage transferware patterns. We seldom see Clyde pieces, and were delighted to find this!
