vintage hand-painted pine wood knife, silverware, or flatware box tray

Vintage handpainted wooden table box for knives or silver, measures 13 1/4" x 9 1/4" overall. This is marked on the bottom with a chop or oriental character, and we think this is vintage made in Japan ware.

It's well made and nicely painted, looks like a piece of primitive old Americana, even though it's a mid-20th century reproduction.
