old antique hand woven coverlet fragment, primitive indigo blue wool & linen fabric
more photos of this product below
Mid 1800s homespun handwoven coverlet fabric - this piece is a full loom
width, though not a bed width. (Very often these old fabrics were joined
together at the selvages for wider pieces such as bed covers.) This piece is
about 33" wide, 72" long unhemmed.
It's a typical sort of overshot pattern, unbleached linen with blue dyed
wool and touches of faded red. It's in good shape overall though not
perfect. There's some broken threads here and there, especially at the
selvages. And there's some moth damage and holes to the blue wool.
