60s vintage handmade ceramic ashtray or round box w/ mod glaze green & blue

Round covered box or an ashtray, a hobbyist piece signed and dated 1968. This is big (about 7 3/4" in diameter). It would be a great ashtray, you could neatly cover it when not in use. Base and lid are both in very good condition. No chips or cracks, very minimal scuffing to the finish.

The interior glaze is glossy, mottled spots in avocado green and blue. The exterior is a satin finish in green, edged in gold. I can't decide which I like better - this is split personality piece which is equally groovy at work or at play!
