1800s antique ironstone bowl, white china w/ embossed blackberries hand painted to look like majolica
more photos of this product below1870s vintage English ironstone bowl with a beautiful, unusual pattern - bramble berry with blackberry embossed design. This was molded of plain white ironstone porcelain, later painted to give it the majolica look so coveted during the late 19th century. It still looks like ironstone, but I have to admit I love those leaves and berries!
This is a large piece, 15 1/2" long across the crossed twig shaped handles. The surface of the plate has a basket weave texture, behind the flowers and leaves.
The back is marked with an England registry stamp, no makers marks that I could see. Condition is amazingly good, without chips, cracks or staining. Painted details look good, no obvious wear.
