This mystery stamper has us stumped! It's
a very old, very primitive iron foot shape with a rough wood spoke
handle, measuring 8" long over the iron foot, 22" tall to the top of the
wood 'leg' handle.
If it's a shoe form, the shoes from its shape would have been very strange indeed! We can't imagine anyone would have put this much effort and design into a masher / tamper, so then we come to our last idea. Perhaps this was a marker of some sort for making 'footprints'? The surface seems as though it would have been very difficult to clean of cement, or paint, or even mud.
