family of squirrels, vintage made in Japan ceramic animals, figurines or lawn ornaments

Family of five large ceramic squirrels, marked Japan. We're not sure if these were made as lawn ornaments or just as indoor decorative pieces, but we love them. (Junk collectors might possibly tend to be a little 'squirrelly'!)

These range in size from 9" to 13" long. Nearly all are chipped, or repaired, or both. The damage isn't terribly noticeable, and doesn't detract from their charm at all.
