hand-carved wood chain w/ wooden links, primitive vintage folk art / tramp art

Old hand carved wooden chain from a farm estate in rural Iowa... we don't know much about the history of this piece beyond that, as it doesn't appear to be signed or dated at all. We believe it's made of cedar wood.

It's the longest example of carved chain that we've ever seen, and beautifully made with hooks at either end. Each link is about 2 1/2" long, and the entire piece is 68" long end to end.
