Very old homespun linen fabric table runner out of a farm estate here in Wisconsin. We'd guess the vintage to be 1880s to the early years of the 1900s... it's difficult to be positive of the age, as some farms kept to the old ways a generation or so behind others! The linen fabric shows the slightly uneven thread, and a soft texture from repeated washings. There's fading to the shades of blue thread used for the embroidered design, and the linen is fairly white from years of hard soap and sunshine. There are spots and stains to the fabric, though, and the embroidery stitching is worn. The runner is 20" wide and 54" long end to end... lots of lovely antique linen for sampler fabric, or your own embroidery work.
