Thistle pattern chintz tooth brush holder, Victorian vintage, heavy white ironstone china. We like the more masculine floral, and the deep red color, unusual and striking. This was most likely once part of an elaborate boudoir wash stand set, but still is as handy as ever, though there's not a lot of practical use for water pitchers or the large bowls, or the commodes these days!
This measures 4 1;/2" tall, and is not marked with a maker's mark at all... maybe English, or maybe American made, we just aren't sure. There's wear to the gold trim, but no other condition problems.
