1930s vintage quilt out of a farm estate here in Wisconsin. This is lovingly pieced together of old fabric, feed sack print cottons, and some sugar sacks with some the the original graphics remaining.

It measures about 70' x 72" overall, hand quilted over a somewhat lumpy cotton batting. This is all cotton fabric, backed in the solid coral orange color used for bordering the blocks on the front. The butterflies are appliqued on the blocks with hand embroidery stitching.

This doesn't look as though it's had hard use, though it does have some soil marks (spots and surface soil), which we haven't attempted to remove. There's no real fabric thinning, and no fading. Just a few tiny holes.
