This is one of the prettiest 'crazy quilts' I've ever seen, I think. It's a collection of fabric sample swatches from decorator books circa late 40s and early 50s, each piece a different fabric, pattern or colorway. Measures about 60" x 64" overall.
The quilt is tied (not quilted) with an old cotton blanket as the backing and fill. Well and sturdily made, this has had a lot of wear and use but is still going strong, though spotted and discolored. It might improve with a good soak or just with a washing - I've left this just as I found it, right out of an estate.
