old antique gaslight lamp parts, glass candle covers for gas burner lights

We've been told that these glass 'candles' are covers for antique gas light burners, late 1800s or early 1900s vintage. We've never seen anything like them before, but then we don't often see gas lights around!

This lot is all shown in the first photo - milk glass and frosted glass pieces open at either end, shaped like candles. We love the Victorian style colors, milk white, custard glass, and mauve or rose pink.

These range in size from about 4" to 4 1/2" tall. Some are chipped, we're including them anyway as we're not sure if the chips will matter or even be visible when these are in place on a light fixture.
