1860s vintage antique white ironstone china embossed prairie wheat English tea or coffee cups
more photos of this product belowMid 19th century vintage Staffordshire England ironstone china with embossed prairie wheat pattern, backstamp marked J Clementson, with design dating to the early 1860s.
This is a set for four cups and saucers, demitasse size for ladies coffee or tea. It's not very often that we find full sets as nice as this!
The saucers are fairly shallow - proper saucers for a more formal setting, not the deep cup plates as made for everyday use. They"re about 4 1/2" in diameter. The cups are about 2" tall, what we'd call an espresso cup today.
All look good without chips or cracks, though they do have some crazing and a little spotting and age discoloration. Really amazingly nice for pieces of this age, 150 years old!
