rare pair of old early electric porcelain architectural breaker switches w/ mica fuse sockets, 1891 patent

Pair of rare antique, very early electrical fused breaker knife switches and three antique fuses. These breakers are marked "Paiste" and are rated for 30 amps and 125 volts. They have heavy white ironstone porcelain base and screw in fuse sockets on each line. The fuse sockets are standard Edison bases with mica bottoms and would also accept a light bulb (as well as the fuses) and so would be perfect to display antique and early light bulbs.

These antique architectural or industrial circuit breaker switches measure about 5 1/8" x 3" across the porcelain bases.

The antique architectural screw fuses all have (or had) mica windows and early patent dates. One of the fuses is marked "Pyrotite - Bryant" and is marked with a patent date of Oct 6 1891 (just 12 years after Thomas Edison received his patent on the light bulb and five years before Harvey Hubbell was issued his patent on the pull chain switch electric lamp socket). The other two fuses are General Electric with patent dates in 1909 and 1906 (we think, we can't make out all of the name and patent date on the fuse that is marked "12" and didn't want to damage the excellent patina).

The GE fuse with the broken window is patented 4-27-1909.

These all have a great patina of age to the brass and copper switch blades and terminal part... a must have for any collector of early and antique electrical fittings!
