Beautiful old silver plated cake server, 19th century vintage, rustic style, with wildflowers and a deer. This is worn, without visible markings... but we believe it's Rogers, lily pattern, 1870s.

The slice is stamped with an engraving of a stag deer. It's a ghostly figure, with details rubbed away by years of polishing. The monogram letter on the handle is much rubbed too.

We'd expect this piece to be silver over copper or silver over steel, but there's not a trace of base metal visible, and no sign of verdigris or rust. It's quite heavy, and measures 9 1/2" long end to end.
