Paris poppies floral pattern ironstone vegetable dish with cover, Johnson Bros - England from the turn of the century. I love the brown flowers against the white, and I love the old world style floral - I don't think of poppies as anything Parisian, though it does look very French country!

This is marked Royal Semi Porcelain (ironstone china made for the English export market). Shape and color are classic antique ironstone, with a nice weighty feel.

Bowl measures about 10 1/4" over the handles, a medium sized serving dish for potatoes or veg. Both the bowl and the lid are showing age and use, with chips, spotting and browning, and a long discolored hairline. Very pretty still, with tons of character and charm.
