antique English sterling calling card case / ladies purse, evening bag w/ celluloid aide memoire

Edwardian ladies sterling silver purse with chain handle, beautifully engraved and monogrammed.

The hallmarks are almost hidden in the elaborate design but are JG - an anchor - passant lion - and a small f. I believe this is probably Joseph Gloster, Birmingham sterling, 1905? The date seems about right, and this is a sterling silver piece.

The case measures 4 1/4" x 3", and is in excellent condition, not especially tarnished. We've left it just as we found it, and have not touched this with polish.

The celluloid 'aide memoire' for notes or dance card is whole and unbroken. We love that the last note - gloves - is still clearly visible.
