antique or vintage brass canister, unlined can w/ lid, tobacco tin humidor

Old world style vintage brass canister and lid, probably a humidor (cigar canister) originally. Has no smell of tobacco, but it's terribly spotted where a lining once fit inside the can. It's old glue, with a rust color. I think the can and lid are both all brass? There's no stress cracks to either piece, but this really needs a good cleaning and polishing to pretty it up!
