antique wood box stenciled Laabs Milwaukee butter & eggs, primitive vintage egg crate

Shabby antique egg crate with the stenciled labeling from Laabs Wholesale Butter & Eggs, Milwaukee. This is made like a fruit crate but maybe a little lighter in weight, it's a little fragile.

Size is 25" long x 12" wide x 12 3/4" deep. The lettering looks great, unfaded... this has been in a cellar in Portage Wisconsin for many, many years.

There's cracks, chips and splitting to the wood, and we have none of the original cardboard egg holders. But it's a wonderful old Milwaukee piece, and we love the proportions, sized like a sign.
