art deco vintage Britannia metal brides basket, pierced interlocking hearts wedding cake plate

1920s vintage pierced metal brides basket, with a heart patterned border. I can't find any makers marks on this one, it's probably English, I think.

It's nice and heavy with a very detailed design (pierced even on the foot). It's a small serving piece, just 9 3/4" across the rim of the bowl.

It's showing noticeable scratching to the surface where a plate is supposed to fit. The allover finish is a mellowed silver tone, Britannia metal. It might originally have been silver plated, but there's really not any signs of silver at all. Looks lovely, just as it is - you won't need to polish it.
