old farm primitive cream can baby lamb feeder, for display only!
more photos of this product belowThis is a cute old piece of farm home crafting and yankee ingenuity! It's an antique goat kid or sheep feeder, made from a cream can fitted out to hold rubber bottle nipples for nursing. The can has the old lid and a convenient handle, all metal, covered with worn metal paint. Measures 13" tall to the top of the handle on the lid.
This piece is sadly for display only now, as it's been almost completely worn out at the bottom of the can - it was patched long ago from the outside, which leaves the inside rough and we think dangerous to baby animals, as bits of metal could get into the milk. The inside of the can was painted many years ago, and we'd also worry about the metal paint being not what we'd consider safe food grade today.
