primitive early american antique hand-stitched penny bullseye rug

Primitive antique penny rug, with hand-stitched coin spots of wool and cotton fabrics, edged with a sawtooth border. It measures 30" x 22" points to points.

The backing is a rough heavy home-spun cotton sacking fabric, seamed in a couple of places, and the front is carefully pieced from old work clothes scraps and rags.

This is in rough shape, with small holes, ragged edges and a few of the circles missing completely... it needs a little restoration work, and would even then be a primitive style piece.
