big old wood barrel butter bucket, 1950's vintage folk painting

Vintage hand-painted folk art design butter bucket, like a big sugar bucket (measures 12" deep x 12 3/4" across the top) once used as a sewing basket.

The wood stave bucket is marked Butter Tub Company on the bottom metal rim... the paint design and shellac finish were added later, 1950's vintage at our best guess.

The wood joints are a little loose, and the paint has a few flaws and wear marks.
