old dovetailed wood box, vintage packing crate for ammunition cartridges

The surface inside and out is very dark and oily, it's difficult to make out the lettering, beyond 'cartridges'.

The box itself is in good solid shape, measures 15" x 11 1/2" x 10" overall. We'd guess the age to be between WWI and WWII, based on the box construction.
