early 1900s vintage trophy silver waiter's tray w/ monogram & engraved robin bird w/ worm
more photos of this product belowWe love this old silver plated trophy tray, though we haven't been able to track down the lettering or the engraved emblem (a robin with a worm - an 'early bird'?). The letters are LHR, or L II R.
The reverse of the tray is marked Wallace Bros.. This mark was used 1870s to 1930s, and we're guessing the tray is from the later part of that period, judging from its minimalist styling. It's an 18" tray, 22 1/2" long over the handles.
It's tarnished, and we've left it just as we found it. We saw only light scratching, and no noticeable loss of plating front or back.
