huge heavy white ironstone china platter, Maddock & Co England back stamp vintage

Huge heavy old white ironstone china platter, big enough to use as a serving tray or to hold a turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas!

Platter measures about 18 1/2" x 12 1/2" overall. The mark is Maddock &Co with the English crown mark - early 1900s vintage.

This has no chips or cracks, but has been much used over its 100 years of age. It shows spotting, scratching and utensil marks, some dulling to the surface. Also some odd 'grit' on the back (see photo) which I believe must be original to manufacture as it's embedded into the china.
