large primitive old carpenter's chest or tool box w/copper fittings
more photos of this product belowLarge old wood carpenter's tool chest with copper fittings at the corners, cast iron handles and old gray paint. This primitive storage chest measures about 34-3/4" long, 20-1/2" wide (front to back) and 17" high.
It has two removable storage trays for organizing hardware or small items. It still has the toggles on the underside of the lid for holding the hand saws.
This chest is mostly pine with a fiberboard top layer(over the pine). The corner fittings look to have been made from copper roof flashing.
There is the remains of a brass lock in the front of the chest. There is no key and we don't think that the lock works. But it could be replaced.
There are also no straps or chains to limit the opening of the lid as a carpenter would want full and easy access to all of his tools.
