old German hand forged metal chamber candle holder, gimbal pivot candle lamp or hanging wall sconce

Vintage Germany forged metal candle holder - the candle holder is made to pivot to use this piece on a wall or on a table.

There's some rust to the steel, but it doesn't look bad on a piece like this. This looks like it would be perfectly at home in a castle, or an ancient sailing ship!

The gimbal works perfectly, this tilts to balance as you carry it around with the finger ring handle. Base measures about 7 1/4" x 5".
