old pine needle basket, handmade coiled basket with paper bottom early or mid century vintage

Unusual vintage basket, a pine needle basket or a sweet grass basket? This has a waxed paper bottom, and looks as though it might have had a handle at one time. It's a flat bottomed bowl shape now, about 9" in diameter x 3" deep.

Not marked or signed, but this has some age to it, probably early to mid 20th century vintage. It's structurally sound, no breaks or brittleness.
