antique 19th C. pine wood tool box or chest w/hand cut dovetails and brass hardware
more photos of this product belowRare antique 1800s (19th century) pine wood tool chest with hand cut dovetailed corners, brass hardware and old gray paint. This charming old box is work bench top sized and measures about 21 3/4" wide, 12 1/2" high and 15" deep.
This old toolchest has ornate brass hinges, folding ring drawer pulls and brass handles on the ends for carrying. It has a brass lock (for a skeleton key, we believe), but there is no key. This has also been reinforced at the hinges with brass strapping.
There are two shallow removable trays in the top of the chest as well as two tool drawers.
This has some splatters of barn red paint over the gray and there is also some worm chewing to the underside of the wide single plank pine bottom.
