rustic vintage Mexican pottery chicken, yellow / turquoise painted hen

We love the rustic rubbed paint finish of this vintage pottery chicken... it's unmarked, but we think it's probably Mexican pottery (or maybe from Spain or Portugal?).

The chicken is 5 1/2" long end to end, perfectly sized as planter for your kitchen windowsill, or as a sponge holder. It's in very nice condition without chips or cracks.
