tiny antique sterling silver shakers, 1920s vintage salt & pepper shaker set very tarnished

Tiny little sterling silver salt and pepper shakers, probably 1920s vintage. These are nearly black with tarnish - I've left them just as found.

Mark is Sterling and W.H.S. Co in a shield (WH Saart, Attleboro Massachusetts). They're lightweight, beautifully made. It's amazing that they've survived a hundred years without being dented or badly damaged!

I am not sure how these are meant to open, and I did not attempt it since the top and the bottom seem snug. The shaker holes look very good without damage or soil - I don't believe this set was ever used.
