large vintage WWII full color map USSR Union of Soviet Socialist Republics 1944

Large old full color map of the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) dated 1944, and also showing the international borders at the time (as well as of January 1939 in red). It measures about 32" x 24" and was prepared and published by National Geographic (and is so marked). It shows Russia and the former Russian republics in central Asia as well a neighboring countries in eastern and central Europe, Iran etc.

This old map has wear and age. There are holes at some of the folding points and a number of thin spots.
