vintage Hardanger embroidery, hand stitched table mat square white on white drawn thread openwork

Vintage hand stitched Hardanger style embroidered cotton square, 16 1/2" x 16 1/2". I'm not sure on the exact age of this piece, it's out of an estate and might be anything from 1920s to 1970s, I think.

It's not in the best of condition, it has a hole and many small spots from use. Hardanger is fairly complex and time consuming, it's nice to know that this was displayed and enjoyed, and saved to pass down to another generation.
