vintage Mottahedeh leaf shape dish, brown Diplomatic Eagle w/ old incised mark

Early Mottahedeh piece with the Diplomatic Eagle in brown (no red and blue on the shield), blue and gold border. It's a leaf shape tray, quite heavy, about 8" x 6" overall.

This one has the Mottahedeh faintly scratched in by hand on the back. It's a little hard to see and harder to get a good photo of the marking!

This has been used, and has very worn gold trim. No chips or cracks, some soil marks to the unglazed bottom.

This piece is a actually a surprisingly good reproduction of an antique Chinese export porcelain in character, I was impressed! Newer (Vista Alegre) Mottahedeh pieces just are not of the same feel.
