vintage carved marble stone fruit, white alabaster pomagranate shape finial

Beautiful carved alabaster pomagranate, a little smaller than life size, about 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" overall. This is a vintage piece, probably made in Italy, 1950s or 60s.

There's a hole on the bottom of this piece - maybe this is from turning the stone on a lathe, or maybe this was mounted as a finial? It has a little pink color staining, and a few dings to the stone.
