vintage cheese slicer or cake breaker w/ green bakelite handle

Interesting vintage kitchen utensil (a cake breaker? a cheese cutter? opinions here are mixed about this!).

We all agree that we love the handle. It's marbled green bakelite or an early plastic, in very nice condition.
