vintage cotton flour sack pillowcases w/ hand stitched embroidered applique butterflies

Vintage pillowcases made from unbleached cotton flour sacks, with print cotton butterflies appliqued to 'fancy them up'. Simple, old fashioned pieces lovingly made at home from the days when life was a little simpler. I love these so much.

I don't believe they've ever been used, but they do have a few light spots and some slight discoloration on the fold lines from storage. Not surprising since they're about 80 years old! I haven't washed or soaked them. Size is about 19" x 27" overall.
